FAQs
Do you charge for the "Pre-Visit Visit"?
No,
we do not charge a fee for this consultation. The consultation is only
necessary for new clients. During this visit, we will cover the
contract with you. At this time we will also pick up the keys to your
home. (If we must arrange to have your keys picked-up at a later date,
there will be a fee)
What is the purpose of the Free In-Home Consultation?
We
provide a free in-home consultation so you have the opportunity to meet
with your new sitter and communicate any information necessary so we
may provide the best care for your pets. Please
provide two keys at the time of your consultation, which will be
retained by your sitter so they may provide you with continuous,
convenient service and be readily available in case you have an
unexpected need for our services.
Will my pet receive personal attention?
YES! Each
time we visit your home to care for your pet, we spend quality time
with your pet. This is the fun aspect of our service, and we enjoy
getting to know your fur babies! :)
How are your services billed?
Pet
sitting services require payment in advance. Daily clients pay for
services weekly (for mid-day visits and daily dog walking).
What services do you offer? We offer in home pet care, dog walking and pet taxi. We also are available to run errands associated with your pet. Run out of food and won’t be able to run to the store? Give us a call! It will be at home waiting on you!
What kind of pets do you care for? We care for all types of pets… dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles. Not sure if we will take care of your pet? Give us a call and ask!
What areas do you serve? We cover Conway, Arkansas.
Will there be consistency in our service? Yes, your pet will be seen by the same pet sitter about the same time every day.
How do you determine what time you'll pay visits to my pets? We require at least once a day for cats and we will see them around the same time each day. Dogs are seen at least three times a day. Morning, mid-day and bedtime visits. Visits start at 8am and end at 10pm.
How am I billed for service? Payment is made in advance for new clients and holiday periods. Payment for established clients is made on or before the first day of service. We accept cash and personal checks.
Do you charge extra for holidays? Yes. There is a $15 per day extra charge for the following holidays:
New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
What are the requirements for my dog? Your dog must be current on the rabies vaccine. Kennel cough vaccine is NOT required for pet sitting. That is only required if you board your pet.
What if I am delayed in returning home? Just let us know and we will continue service until you are able to return home.
What if there is an emergency at my home that is unrelated to my pet? Yet another reason to hire a professional pet sitter! We are able to take care of any unexpected emergencies while you are away. We ask for your plumber and electricians contact info for this very reason. We are able to contact the necessary people and stay at the house if needed till the problem is fixed. Of course, we will also contact you while you are away and keep you updated as to the progress.
Will you provide updates about my pet while I am away? We can email you updates while you are away… just provide us with a contact email.
How much time will you spend with my pet?
It
depends! The duration depends on several factors, most important of
which are your pet's needs. We will typically spend between 20 and 30
minutes with your loved one, sometimes longer but never shorter. Group
doggy walks are typically longer than solo doggy walks. Kitty visits
vary depending on how social your cat is and how long kitty will let us
stay there to play with him/her.
I'd rather not have you visit my home, do you offer boarding services?
Sorry,
we do not offer any boarding or pet day-care services. Don't be afraid
to tell us if you're a bit reluctant to let a stranger in your home
while away, it's a normal feeling. However, we are confident that you
will feel more comfortable about it after the initial consultation.
Besides, kenneling your pet can be traumatic to both of you and it
exposes your loved one too many airborne viruses commonly found in
kennels. Your pet will be both happier and safer in your own home.
Will you clean my cat's litter box?
Yes, we will make sure that your cat has a nice clean litter box to conduct their business.
Will my dog be walked alone or in a group?
It
depends on your (or your dog's) preference. If your dog gets along
well with other dogs, you might prefer a group walk because they're
usually a bit longer than solo walks.
How many dogs do you walk at the same time?
When
we walk dogs in groups, we limit the size to 3 (or sometimes 4) dogs
but usually we're walking dogs alone or with one other dog. Rest
assured that Central Arkansas Pet Sitting does not walk 7 or 8 dogs at
once.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes,
but only because we need one sometimes. If you cancel less than 48
hours prior to a scheduled visit, you may be charged for the visit. We
try to be as flexible as possible and understand that plans can change
at the last minute.
Can you administer medication to my pet?
Absolutely!
We're here to take care of your loved one so if your pet requires
special care, we'll handle it. Since special care sometimes requires a
little extra time with your pet, we may ask for a little extra payment.
I don't have a spare key, can I leave it for you under the welcome mat?
Please
don't ask us to take on this responsibility; it is too risky. Please
have spares handy before meeting us. We typically require two sets of
keys.
Do you return our keys once we return home?
Yes,
you can pick-up your keys or we will gladly return them the next time
we're in the neighborhood. But if there's a chance that you will need
our services again in the future, it is much easier if we already have
your keys. We do not charge for the initial consultation but we do
charge to come pick up your keys for future visits.
How often should you visit to care for my cat?
In
our experience, one visit per day is sufficient for most cats but we
are happy to visit twice per day if you'd prefer. Some customers ask
us to visit their cat every other day while they're out of town but we
strongly urge them not to do this and to schedule daily visits. As
independent as your cat may be, two days is a long time when they're
left all alone.
